32' Herreshoff Buzzards Bay 25
L. Francis Herreshoff noted that the Buzzard’s Bay 25 was his father’s favorite design.. The Buzzards Bay 25 was designed in 1914 . It had a hollow bow, higher freeboard, and shorter overhangs than many of its predecessors. The hollow bow helps keep the boat dry, and the shorter overhangs provide improved durability. The BB25 is quite fast, and they have always done well in sailing regattas. ‘Wizard’ is a fine reproduction built using coldmolded wood/epoxy construction by boatbuilder Larry Gillen. She has been well cared for and professionally maintained by Damien McLaughlin. Recent upgrades include interior /exterior repaint decks and bottom (2015) topsides/boot repainted 2012.

Hull is cold molded wood and epoxy, decks are painted Dynel over plywood with wood deck beams. All trim and toe rails are varnished mahogany. Design is full keel with attached rudder and centerboard. Topsides are painted gray with a white boot stripe, The transom is of varnished mahogany. Engine mounted to port side of cuddy cabin and covered with an engine box. Cabin has custom copper sink to port with manual fresh water pump, ice box to starboard and V Berth with filler and Port-O-Potti below. Sitka spruce spars with 1 x 19 ss rigging. Spacious cockpit has tiller steering and natural teak sole. Varnished teak cockpit seats have hinged openings providing storage in lockers below port and starboard. New standing and running rigging.
