CONSTRUCTION: Hand laid fiberglass hull with molded Scheel Keel and externally bolted lead ballast. The balanced rudder is protected by an integral fiberglass skeg. Deck is one piece cored fiberglass structure with non skid surfaces. Custom stainless steel bow and stern rails and stanchions with three opening gates (port, stb & stern) all with double vinyl coated wire lifelines. The "Herreshoff" style interior is mixture of white formica with teak plywood buklheads all trimmed in teak. The cabin is well ventilated throughout with a large companionway hatch, 2 opening Bomar overhead hatches and 9 opening port lights (all with insect screens). A solar vent (new 2003) and one large (above galley) dorade mounted on deck provide additional ventilation. Oiled teak rub rails capped with stainless provide protection to the topsides. The bottom has been striped and epoxy barrier coated. The exterior of the house, the cockpit coamings, the toe rails, grab rails and companionway hatch are all trimmed in varnished teak. The top sides and boot top are Awlgrip spray painted.

ACCOMODATION: The white bulkheads and oiled teak trim provide a light and open interior. Descending the companionway to starboard is a Nav station and quarter berth. The galley is to port. The main salon consists of an L shaped settee which pulls out to convert to a double berth. There is a fold down varnished teak table with an extension leaf. The athwartship head is forward of the main cabin and separated with a bi-fold door. Shower w/ H/C pressure water to stbd, toilet and hanging locker to port. Fwd v-berth has privacy door and filler. Storage is in lockers throughout the boat. All cabin soles are teak and finished in satin varnish.

GALLEY: Custom SS sink and counter, H/C pressure water, salt water foot pump (’97), two burner CNG stove w/ oven and pot holders. Two CNG tanks with safety shut off (’99). Adler Barbour cold plate refrigeration.

ENGINE: 21 hp Volvo Penta 1988 (1082 hrs), F.W cooled, new 1” prop shaft and 15” feathering Max Prop (2003), Thru hulls are Marlon, one bronze, Halon Fireboy system in engine compartment.

STEERING: Custom carved and varnished teak tiller w/ extensions (2)

ELECTRICAL: 90 amp 12 volt deep cycle battery (engine starting), charged by engine’s 50 amp alternator, second alternator charges 2 house batteries of 250 amps each. 30 amp AC panel w/voltmeter, master and circuit breakers. Shore power cord (30 amp). DC panel w/voltmeter, master breaker and individual switch breakers. Battery selection master switch. 1000 watts Heart Interface Inverter/battery charger 50 amps temp. controlled. Tin coated copper wiring throughout, copper grounding system for standing rigging and engine, nine 12V cabin lights, one chart light, bow and deck lights on mast, Tri-color Masthead light, pulpit mounted bow and stern navigation lights.

ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION: New Ritchie compass 2007, Raymarine 2D Pathfinder radar with color GPS Raymarine C80 monitor and gyro compass new 2005, ICOM VHF radio, Autohelm 1000 Autopilot, Datamarine digital depthfinder w/ alarm, Datamarine digital Speedo w/ log, Datamarine A.W.I w/ wind speed newly rebuilt 2004, KVH Sail comp Compass renewed ‘98, 406 Mhz EPIRB, Monitor wind vane (2001) with spares, CNG “Sniffer” gas solenoid, Alpine AM/FM CD player w/ speakers in Main salon with lightning static eliminator (New 1999).

RIGGING: Sloop rig w 1 x 19 x ¼” ss rigging, Jiffy reefing, Furlex roller reefing/furling jib, mast mounted whisker pole and Hall quick vang. Staysail track installed on deck for future addition of staysail stay and storm staysail . Hydraulic backstay, Stand up fiddle on main traveler, adjustable jib cars.

SAILS: New 2007 North Main and Genoa. Doyle fully battened main with double reef & mainsail cover, Doyle quicksilver 130% roller furling Genoa, North 130% (1994), North 110% (1994), North 150% (1996), Steading Sail, Spinnaker w snuffer sock (1994), Dodger (New 2004), Awning w/ side curtains.

EQUIPMENT: Ardic forced hot air diesel cabin heater, 7 adult life jackets, dock lines and fenders, CQR anchor w/ nylon rode (300') and chain (60'), 50 lb Luke storm anchor, Chrome dorade vent, SS solar vent, boarding ladder, life sling, custom aft pushpit port & STB seats and other miscellaneous equipment/spares.

COMMENTS: “Selkie” has been well maintained. She is in exceptionnal conditon and most systems/equipment have seen recent improvements and upgrades too numerous to list. “Selkie” is a wonderful daysailer, weekender or world cruiser.
