COMMENTS: The updates on Dash were begun in 1998 by the previous owner, a retired airline pilot. It has continued under the direction of the current owner, a retired physician. Virtually the entire yacht has been systematically redone, and most moving parts have been replaced with new. This 1985 Dyer has always been cared for professionnaly, stored indoors and sailed for only two to three months per year. This boat is in exceptional condition for its age and is being offered for significantly less money than a new boat. The fuel injected, electronic ignition Mercruiser gasoline engine provides many advantages over a diesel in this size boat; less weight, significantly decreased vibration, noise, and fumes. That translates to more speed with less noise, while retaining excellent fuel economy. This is quite possibly the fastest Dyer 29 on the water today. Yet, at 12 knots (a quiet and leisurely speed that suits this present owner) the average fuel consumption over the past two summers has been 4 gallons/hour proving this to be very economical yacht to operate. Light, fast, and fuel efficient is the common ingredient to all lobster boat hulls. The gasoline engine retains these key components. If you are seriously looking for a Dyer 29, you will buy this boat if you see it. It is priced reasonably with room for a new owner to upgrade to new electronics of his own choosing. This boat is ready for immediate delivery.
